Hello, my name is Dan Kinder and I’m a lifelong resident of West Virginia. I grew up in the Charleston area and graduated from George Washington High School. After graduating high school, I accepted a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Charleston and later finished my undergraduate degree at West Virginia University. I also have master’s degrees from both Marshall University and West Virginia University. Upon graduating, I spent several years as an auto claims adjuster with Allstate Insurance in Cross Lanes, WV until I decided to pursue a career in teaching. Much of my professional career was spent as a teacher and coach at South Charleston High School. Those years were very special to me as I built strong friendships and relationship with many in the South Charleston community. The opportunity arose for me to return to the insurance industry as a producer for State Farm. And after a couple years of successful sales, networking, and relationship building. I was given the opportunity to have my own insurance agency in Barboursville, WV through Erie Insurance.

After many years of providing professional auto, home, business, and life insurance sales and services to so many great individuals throughout the State of West Virginia with other top insurance companies, I am proud to have my own insurance agency – Midland Insurance. We are located at 602 Central Avenue in Barboursville, West Virginia. Erie Insurance has been in business since 1925 and is a Fortune 500 company with a long history of providing excellent insurance coverage and outstanding claims services at a very affordable cost. I am very grateful to Erie Insurance for this opportunity and look forward to further expanding their presence in the Midland area and beyond.

It is my intention to immerse myself into this community and do everything I can to support, grow, and protect it. Specifically, I want to use my experience as a teacher, coach, fundraiser, grant writer, and promoter to support the students, staff, faculty, coaches, and administrators at the schools in our Midland community. Hopefully, you have noticed by now that the name of my agency is not Dan Kinder Insurance. It’s not about me. I am so passionate about supporting this community that I named my agency (Midland Insurance) and agency motto (“Go Midland!”) after my mission of supporting the Midland community. My mission statement at Midland Insurance is to serve, give to, and love the Midland community as much as I can. If I do that to the best of my ability, all the other aspects of my business will take care of themselves.

I’m so blessed to have so many supportive family members, friends, acquaintances, and business/ community relationships.
